Gladwyne to Hold Blood Drive in Honor of 4-Year-Old Resident with Neuroblastoma

The drive will be held in the basement of St. John Vianney Church in Gladwyne.

When flyers started popping up around town and in email inboxes advertising a blood drive to honor a 4-year-old from Gladwyne who was recently diagnosed with Neuroblastoma (a form of childhood cancer), the community took notice.

There was so much community response, in fact, the blood drive that was originally supposed to be held at the Gladwyne Firehouse is now being held at the larger location of St. John Vianney Church at 350 Conshohocken State Road in Gladwyne.

The drive will be held in the church basement from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 26. Donors may park in the church parking lot.

“Kids undergoing treatment for Neuroblastoma (and other types of cancer) often need blood transfusions to maintain their hemoglobin and platelet levels,” according to the flyer being circulated.
