Gladwyne Library League Awards Local Junior Authors
Students from nine local schools in grades first through fifth competed in the Gladwyne Library League's 40th Annual Junior Author Contest.
More than 60 students in grades one through five won awards in the Gladwyne Library League's 40th annual Junior Author Contest.
There were 797 entries from nine local schools, including , and . (See attached PDF for the full list of winners.)
"The Junior Author Contest is held every year, to stimulate children's interest in the community library and to encourage creative expression in writing," wrote Junior Author chairwoman Joey Udren.

Students were awarded in fiction, non-fiction and poetry categories at a ceremony Friday afternoon at Gladwyne Elementary.
The winning entries will be bound in volumes to be placed in the 's permanent collection, said Library League President Kay Gately, though that process could take a few months.

"We had some very enthusiastic winners, skipping to the stands for their prizes," Gately said of the student authors.
Winners received book gifts from in Haverford.
