Bryn Mawr Lighted Crosswalk Closed

The Bryn Mawr lighted crosswalk adjacent to is closed for repairs, according to a press release from Lower Merion Township.

The lighted crosswalk is not operating to permit and poses a safety hazard, according to the release. In-ground lighting will be removed and replaced with more visible flashing lights similar to mid-block crossing in Ardmore.

"We appreciate that the closure of this mid-section crosswalk presents an inconvenience to Bryn Mawr pedestrians," Commissioner Scott Zelov said in the release. "However, the safety of our citizens and those visiting Bryn Mawr is our top priority. We look forward to an improved crosswalk in the coming months."

Repairs, which require delivery of construction materials and construction, could take up to a month.
