High Winds In Saturday Forecast

Wind could gust up to 60 mph.

Wind gusts of up to 60 mph are expected Saturday, according to a high wind warning issued by the National Weather Service.

Northwest winds of 20 to 35 mph are expected, and the highest winds are predicted to occur between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday, the warning states.

“Gusty to locally damaging winds are expected on Saturday,” according to NWS. “Numerous tree limbs and utility lines will be knocked down. A few weak trees may also fall.

“Widespread power outages are possible. Downed trees and tree limbs could damage structures and vehicles. The winds will make it difficult to drive high profile vehicles, especially on bridges and overpasses.”

In addition to eastern Pennsylvania, high winds are also expected Saturday in parts of Maryland, Delaware and New Jersey, according to the high wind warning.
