Bryn Mawr-Gladwyne Patch Editor Says Farewell

Thank you, Bryn Mawr, Gladwyne, Villanova and Rosemont.

It's time for me to say goodbye as the editor of Bryn Mawr-Gladwyne Patch.

It seems only fitting that, after nearly two years here, I was able to celebrate the grand reopening of Ludington Library and a fantastic Bryn Mawr Day with you in my last weekend of coverage.

“Honoring the Past; Embracing our Future,” as the Bryn Mawr 100’s motto goes.

You’ve given me the chance to record a piece of the community’s rich history—its moments of pure happiness and great sorrow.

From the first Board of Commissioners meeting, covering a 10.8 percent tax increase, to the closing of Borders, from Hurricane Irene to the opening of the first all-vegan restaurant in Bryn Mawr, and from Gladwyne firefighters risking their lives to rescue citizens stranded in flood waters to new plans presented for Odd Fellows Hall and Gladwyne Methodist Church, there has been no shortage of interesting news.

I’ve also enjoyed the regular features: talking to incredible area students for Whiz Kid profiles, getting the lowdown on Bryn Mawr Film Institute’s monthly offerings and looking through health inspection reports to see which local eateries might be a good bet for dinner.

Thank you so much for all of your support. Thank you to the amazing local editors I’ve worked with, who are so talented and invested in their towns. Thank you bloggers, business owners, local commissioners and so many of you who are so involved in and passionate about the community. You welcomed me into your civic meetings and your election parties, and at your schools and businesses and homes and churches.

More than that, you welcomed me into the community, and I have been privileged to hear and tell your stories.
