Aqua PA to Begin $880,000 Morris Ave. Project

A water main between Old Gulph Road and Lafayette Road will be replaced.

is replacing 5,106 feet of water main along Morris Avenue this summer between Old Gulph and Lafayette roads.

An 8-inch cast iron-and-cement main will be replaced with an 8-inch ductile main at a cost of about $880,000, according to Aqua spokeswoman Donna Alston.

Morris Avenue will be closed in the area of construction, and crews will work 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Residents, emergency vehicles and other essential services, like school buses, mail and trash services, will have access, Alston wrote in an email.

Main replacement should be completed in early August, and final paving should be done in September, according to Alston.
