K-9 Tracks Scent Between Gladwyne Burglaries

Two homes were broken into Friday evening in Gladwyne, Lower Merion police say.

Tracking by a Lower Merion Police Department K-9 dog indicated that the same burglar or burglars struck at at least two Gladwyne homes Friday night, police said Monday.

Residents of a home on the 1700 block of Riverview Road returned home at 8:30 p.m. Friday after three hours away and found a garage window unlocked with the screen removed and a basement door unsecured, police said. They were unable to determine whether anything had been stolen.

Responding officers followed the K-9 tracking from the Riverview Road home to another house on the 1700 block of Sylvan Lane. Officers there contacted the owners after finding a cut screen on an unlocked basement window.
