The Lower Merion school board will vote on a contract agreement with the Lower Merion Education Association on Monday night.

1. Veteran’s Day is observed on Monday. Find out what’s open and what’s closed. 2. The Lower Merion School District board of directors will vote on the terms of the collective bargaining agreement with the Lower Merion Education Association at their meeting Monday night. Professional and support staff have been working under the terms of the contract that expired at the end of June.  The meeting is at 8 p.m. in the Lower Merion school district administration building’s board room. The Week Ahead: 5 Things to Know

A heads up for those who live or work in Bryn Mawr, Gladwyne, Villanova and Rosemont.

1. The Bryn Mawr Civic Association holds its monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Bryn Mawr Community Center. Topics to be discussed include Ludington Library, the Bryn Mawr 100 and billboards. The civic does not hold meetings in July or August. 2. There will be lane closures Monday on the westbound Schuylkill Expressway between City Avenue and King of Prussia, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. as bridges are cleaned, according to PennDOT. Tuesday through Thursday lane closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., also for bridge cleaning, will affect eastbound traffic between King of Prussia and City Avenue. 3.
