It was the last game of the season, a horrible loss to the New York Giants. And Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Michael Vick, returning for the first time in more than a month after injury, had once again been battered and bruised. But this time, Vick lashed out: blasting his teammates for a lack of effort and heart. We all thought that was the last Birds fans would ever see of the controversial QB. After all, Vick had spent most of the season injured. And when he was on the field, he was producing too many costly turnovers. He was due a bonus if kept on the roster. Bernard Pierce is a running back for the Ravens, who are a win away from the Super Bowl.
Ardmore native Bernard Pierce, barely a year removed from playing football in a Temple University uniform, is now a week away from playing for a berth in the Super Bowl. The Baltimore Ravens stunned the top-seeded Denver Broncos on Saturday in an AFC divisional playoff game, winning 38-35 in double overtime. They will meet either the Houston Texans or New England Patriots at 6:30 p.m. next Sunday in the AFC championship game, with the winner playing in the 47th Super Bowl in New Orleans. Pierce, a rookie running back for the Baltimore Ravens, ran for 14 yards on five carries in Denver.
