Patch’s 12 Favorite Apps

If you just got a new smartphone and you’re looking for some apps, check out some of our favorites.

Looking for new apps? Here are some of our favorites: Jennifer Kim, Patch Local Editor Waze: This is an alternate GPS app that I use when Google Maps goes wacky on me (and that's pretty often). What I like about this app is that it's very easy to use, the GPS provides you with real-time traffic reports, turn-by-turn directions, avoiding highway/toll options, and re-calculating your route is fairly quick. The only downside I see are the pop-up comments that appear from other "Wazers" nearby, random GPS crashes, and the amount of battery it eats up your phone. Thanks for sharing your favorite apps guys! I enjoy some of the same apps, but the others I’ll have to check out; especially Hello Farm. My kids and I take frequent road trips, so it sounds like something they would enjoy during some of the down time we face. Another app that I love is DISH Remote Access.
