Viewfinder: Mr. Harriton Contest

Harriton High students raised $8,000 for charity.

The fourth annual Mr. Harriton contest came into the viewfinder on Friday night as 10 students competed for the title. The two-hour event was a succession of talented students performing in front of a live audience while being judged by a panel of seven judges.

The contestants sang, danced and played instruments. One recited his own poetry and another identified lines from Shakespeare by play, act, and scene number.  The talent level was exceptionally high, so picking the winner and two runners up was a difficult task. Junior Jake Ohlbaum took third place while junior Sam Schotland finished second.  The crown was won by junior Cole Oldfield.

The event raised over $8,000 for Hodgkin's lymphoma research in support of classmate Austin Wortley who is recovering from the disease. Our gallery shows you a few moments from the very lively event.
