Max Norris Finishes Harriton Cross Country Career Among Top 20 in U.S.

The senior placed second among Northeast runners and 17th overall in Saturday's national championship.

Harriton distance-running star Max Norris finished his high school cross country career Saturday in San Diego with a strong performance among the nation's greatest young runners at the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships national title race.

Norris, who squeaked through regional qualifying about six seconds ahead of the top-10 cut, placed a comfortable second among Northeast runners on Saturday—and 17th overall, out of 40—with a time of 15:41.

The only Northeast runner to beat Norris was overall winner Ed Cheserek of Newark, NJ, who finished in 14:59 to repeat as national champion.
