Harriton Football Gets Back on Top, Bests Radnor

Harriton's varsity football team sinks Radnor Raiders.

The Rams butted heads with the Radnor Raiders on Friday night at Radnor's Prevost Field, shook off a week 2 loss, and brought home a 28-14 victory in football.

Early on, it looked like the Rams were prime to romp the Raiders. The Rams scored seven points in the first quarter followed by 14 more points in the second quarter.

The Rams effort was a classic mix of running and passing plays, coupled with an aggressive defense. The Raiders simply could not get anything going. Up 21-0 at the break, Harriton's expectations were high on sealing a win.

In the third quarter, Radnor surprised everyone by denying the Rams additional points, while making several good running drives that, while not scoring, at least showed that the Raiders were still in the game. The third quarter ended with the Rams still up 21.

It was the fourth quarter when the Raiders launched an all-out offensive against the Rams, scoring 14 points. There were times when it looked like the Radnor would be able to make up the deficit and maybe pull ahead, but a series of fumbles and interceptions ended that hope for Radnor. The Rams added seven more points to its tally in the last quarter for a final score of 28-14.
