Baldwin Squash Player Wins Mid-Atlantic Junior Championship

Morgan Steelman is a sophomore at The Baldwin School.

The following was provided to Patch:

Morgan Steelman, a sophomore squash player at The Baldwin School, won the under 17 Mid-Atlantic Junior Championship at Meadow Mill Athletic Club in Baltimore, MD, on February 17. Steelman has now won her last two US Squash Junior Championship Tour (JCT) events. In January she won the West Coast JCT held in San Francisco, CA.

JCT events feature the highest level of junior competition as they play a crucial role in the selection process for national teams. Each season’s five JCTs are held in locations across the country in order to draw the best junior players from every district of US Squash. A total of 32 entrants were in the under 17 age bracket.

Steelman was not the only Baldwin School squash player participating in the championship event. Sumrin Mudgil, a freshman at Baldwin, finished in third place in the under 17 bracket. Baila Mudgil, an eighth grader at Baldwin, captured second place in the under 15 bracket. Meghna Sreedhar, a sixth grader at Baldwin, placed second in the under 13 bracket.
