51st Annual Shipley Shops Begin

The shops last through Saturday.

This year marks the 51st year has held its pre-holiday Shipley Shops. 

Over the years, it has expanded from 15 local and out-of-town specialty stores selling goods over two days to 40 vendors over the course of four days.

“Before the King of Prussia, Springfield, and Plymouth Meeting malls, the Shipley Shops event was an innovative shopping concept with various vendors all under one roof,” according to a press release.

Shipley Shops are open to the public today until 6 p.m., Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Yarnall Gymnasium, The Shipley School, 814 Yarrow Street in Bryn Mawr.

There will also be a raffle of a pair of new 2011 Vespas. Raffle tickets cost $20 or five for $80.

Today and tomorrow, Shipley Shops costs $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and free for children 18 and younger. The shops are free for everyone for Family Fun Day on Saturday.

All proceeds from the event benefit The Shipley School.
