Bryn Mawr Home Sales Up, But Prices Down in First Quarter

Median sale price of the Bryn Mawr homes sold in the first quarter was 50 percent of last year's.

Home sales in Bryn Mawr increased from 27 to 37 in the first quarter of 2013 compared with the same time period in 2012, according to a Prudential Fox and Roach HomeExpert Report.

It signifies a 37 percent increase. Thirty-one and 24 homes were sold during the first quarter of 2011 and 2010, respectively.

The median price of properties that did sell in the first quarter fell by about 50 percent from $635,000 last year to $325,000 this year. In 2011 and 2010 the median price of sold properties was $560,000 and $535,000, respectively, according to the report.

The average days that a home was the market fell by 15 percent in the first quarter of 2013 from 115 last year to 98 days. In 2011 that number was 114; in 2010 it was 96.
