Township Seeks Applicants for Open Library Board Position

The Lower Merion Library System is looking for local residents who have an interest in the direction and operation of township libraries to fill a member-at-large position of the board of directors.

The library system is charged with running all six Lower Merion libraries— Gladwyne, Ludington, Ardmore, Bala Cynwyd, Belmont Hills and Penn Wynne. "Board directors are responsible for policy-making, stewardship, and long range planning," a township news release said.

"This is an important volunteer position requiring a minimum time commitment of one evening per month," the release said. "Interested candidates are encouraged to submit a resume to the President of the Board of Directors, Lower Merion Library System, 75 East Lancaster Avenue, Ardmore, PA 19003."

Interested applicants have until Jan. 18, 2011 to submit an application.
