Lower Merion Commissioners Approve Plan for Gladwyne Subdivision

The plan calls for two single-family homes.

The Lower Merion Board of Commissioners on Wednesday night approved a preliminary subdivision plan for 440 Conshohocken State Road in Gladwyne.

According to the preliminary plan, a 1.6-acre lot would be subdivided into two new lots, measuring 26,162 square feet (Lot 1) and 25,248 square feet (Lot 2).

A single family house with a 3,353-square foot footprint would be built on Lot 1 and a second single-family home, with a 3,535-square foot footprint, would be constructed on Lot 2.

The Board of Commissioners Building and Planning Committee of the preliminary subdivision plan, subject to several conditions.

One of the conditions requires that the applicant for the subdivision plan, Michael Emma, “explore using an architectural style for the proposed homes that is more compatible with the surrounding neighborhood, which consists of stucco and stone materials in the plain mill style, with porches and decorative baskets.”
