MontCo ADA Suspended

Karen Ricca started with the DA's office in 1990, headed up ARD program; Ferman calls it a confidential personnel matter.

Long time Montgomery County Assistant District Attorney Karen Ricca has been suspended without pay, according to a report in The Intelligencer.

District Attorney Risa Ferman declined to say why Ricca was suspended, calling it a confidential personnel matter.

Ricca oversaw the county's Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) program, which offers first-time non-violent offenders a chance to expunge their criminal records through the completion of a set probationary period, usually between 12 and 36 months. DUI and possession of small amounts of marijuana or other controlled substances are examples of the offenses with which the program's applicants have been charged.
