Bryn Mawr Crosswalk Reopens with Overhead Lights

The crosswalk had stopped working April 2, according to Lower Merion Township.

The Bryn Mawr lighted crosswalk adjacent to  reopened Monday, about a month and a half after it .

In-ground lighting on the 800 block of Lancaster Avenue was removed and replaced with more visible flashing lights, similar to a mid-block crossing in Ardmore.

"It now has overhead lighting that is much easier for motorists to see at all times, and thus should be safer for pedestrians," wrote Ward 10 Commissioner Scott Zelov in an email sent Monday to the Bryn Mawr Business Association.

Crews began about a month ago.
