Waverly Road House Burglarized

What looked like a jewelry box, but wasn't, was taken July 3, police said.

A Gladwyne home was burglarized July 3 by someone who pried a rear door open, Lower Merion police told news media on Monday.

A security alarm sounded sometime before 3:30 p.m. (when the burglary was reported) that day at the house on the 1000 block of Waverly Road.

A box of hearing-aid equipment had been stolen, police were told, a box that the burglar or burglars may have mistaken for a jewelry box and neglected to inspect before leaving the house. Jewelry is taken in the majority of Lower Merion burglaries.
