Police believe windows were forced open in both cases.

Lower Merion police on Monday reported two burglaries from the past week in Gladwyne and Villanova:

  • Sometime between 1:30 p.m. Tuesday and 9:20 a.m. Friday, someone forced open a first-floor window of a house on Club House Road's 1100 block, police said.
A housekeeper arrived Friday morning to find a second-floor bedroom ransacked.
The home's alarm system was not activated, police said.
  • Sometime Wednesday between 5:15 p.m. and 9 p.m., a home on the 1300 block of Valley Road in Villanova was burglarized, police said.
Officers have not confirmed how the home was entered but believe a side window was forced open.
A bedroom closet was found ransacked and several pieces of jewelry were taken, police said.
A neighbor is checking video surveillance footage for any evidence.
