Two Students Involved in Crushed Car Incident Released from Hospital

Two Rosemont College students were released from the hospital with minor injuries after a large tree crushed the car they were in.

A woman who was trapped in a car for about 40 minutes Saturday afternoon after a large tree fell on top of it was released from the hospital the same day with minor injuries, a Rosemont College official said.

That woman was a passenger in a vehicle in a Rosemont College parking lot when fire officials believe high winds caused a large tree to fall on top of it at about 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

She was taken to Paoli Memorial Hospital for evaluation, Bryn Mawr Fire Co. .

The driver of the vehicle was also taken to a hospital for treatment, Roberta Perry, managing director of communications for Rosemont College, said Monday. She was unsure of how long it took to get the driver out of the vehicle.

Both are students at Rosemont College, she added.

"Both were released from the hospital the same day, and their injuries were not serious," Perry said. "Neither had serious injuries, and they were released the same day."

Perry said Rosemont College is not releasing additional information about the incident, including the names of the two students involved.
