Police: Bryn Mawr Man Charged With DUI

The following information has been supplied by the Newtown Police Department. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

Newtown police responded to West Chester Pike by Bryn Mawr Avenue about 7:15 p.m. March 14 for a report of a possible intoxicated driver, police said.

Police in the area observed the car traveling north on Bryn Mawr Avenue from Rt. 3 and swerving from one side of the road to the other, crossing the double yellow line. Police said the driver failed to stop when police activated their emergency lights in an attempt to stop the vehicle.

The driver continued north on Bryn Mawr Avenue into Radnor Township, police said, and police were able to stop the driver just by the I-476 overpass in Radnor.

The driver was identified as Justin Hrebiniak, 36, of Bryn Mawr, police said. When asked if he knew that police were following him and attempting to stop him, Hrebiniak replied, “no,” according to the report. Police detected an odor of alcohol from Hrebiniak and performed a portable breathaylzer test, which recorded a 0.159 percent blood-alcohol content, police said.

Hrebiniak was transported to Riddle Hospital for blood withdrawal. He was arrested and charged with DUI, careless driving, and duty of driver on approach of emergency vehicle, police said.
