Police Blotter: Two Men Assault Pedestrian, Attempt to Rob Him

From Lower Merion Township Police reports released Feb. 7.

Assault: Two men assaulted and tried to rob a pedestrian at about 1:45 a.m. Feb. 6 on the unit block of Thomas Avenue in Bryn Mawr, police said. Police said the men pushed him to the ground from behind and repeatedly said, "Give me your wallet." They then ran away toward Lancaster Avenue without taking anything. The victim suffered bloody knees and was not hospitalized, police said.

Trespassing: Scott Cohen, 20, of the 600 block of Dayton Road in Bryn Mawr, was in district court on Cricket Avenue in Ardmore in a preliminary hearing on a trespassing charge at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 3, police said. Cohen was warned to control his verbal outbursts, but they continued, police said. Cohen swore before moving toward the complainant in his trespassing case, who was in the room, police said. Police said Cohen scuffled with officers who tried to restrain him, and he was immediately taken back to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in Lower Providence Township. Charges are pending but may include disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, police said.

Property Damage: A 1997 BMW 328i parked overnight between Feb. 2 and Feb. 3 on the unit block of South Warner Avenue in Bryn Mawr was found to have several significant scratches on the front end and hood, police said.

Underage drinking: On-campus Rosemont College student Malika Sidq, 18, was cited for underage drinking and taken to Bryn Mawr Hospital about 2:05 a.m. Feb. 2, police said.
