Police Blotter: Theft from Rite Aid and Underaged Drinking
From Lower Merion Police Department reports released Feb. 21.
Retail theft: At 11:50 a.m. Feb. 14, police said 32-year-old Isa Salahdeen Gamble of the 300 block of Sprague Road in Penn Valley walked out with unpaid-for items. Police said the assistant manager went outside and confronted Gamble. Police said Gamble refused to pay and handed the items back, but as the assistant manager took out his phone to call police, Gamble grabbed the phone and drove away in an SUV. Police said they stopped the vehicle on Woodside Road just north of Montgomery Avenue, and the manager positively identified Gamble and got his phone back. Gamble was charged with retail theft, police said.
Underaged drinking: Police said Lerys Del-Moral, 20, of Miami, Fla., and Katie McCormick, 20, of Seattle, were charged with underaged drinking after officers responded to a report of a party at Bryn Mawr College at 11:15 p.m. Feb. 18. Both women were taken to Bryn Mawr Hospital for treatment of alcohol overdoses, police said.
