Police Blotter: Theft from Bryn Mawr Train Station, Public Drunkenness

The following information has been supplied by the Lower Merion Police Department. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

On Monday afternoon,  reported to news media the following incidents from the past week in Bryn Mawr and Gladwyne:

Theft: A Sirrus mountain bike, white with black lettering, was stolen from the sometime on July 27, police said. The victim locked the bike, valued at $500, to a bike rack and returned later in the day to find both the bike and the lock missing, police said.

Public drunkenness: Police responded to a report of a man sleeping on a bench on the 800 block of West Lancaster Avenue in Bryn Mawr at 3:49 a.m. July 28, police said. The man was under the influence of alcohol to a degree that he was a danger to himself, police said. The 20-year-old from Selkirk, NY, was cited for public drunkenness, underage drinking and having a fake ID, police said.

Public drunkenness: Police responded to the 800 block of West Lancaster Avenue about 5 p.m. July 29 to find a man asleep at the steps of the , police said. The man had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and blew a .33 on a preliminary breath test, police said. The 53-year-old Ardmore man was taken to Bryn Mawr Hospital for treatment due to his high level of intoxication, police said. The man was cited with public drunkenness, police said.
