Police Blotter: Sewer Grates, Jewelry Stolen in Bryn Mawr Area

The following information has been supplied by the Lower Merion Police Department. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

On Monday afternoon, Lower Merion police reported to news media the following Bryn Mawr-area crimes and incidents from the past week:

Theft: Someone stole several cast-iron public sewer grates overnight between Aug. 7 and 8 from the 100 block of Righters Mill Road in Penn Valley and the intersection of Mill Creek and Old Gulph roads in Gladwyne. The total loss to the township was about $900, police said.

Theft: A motorist who had had mysterious car trouble after being parked in the Rosemont train station July 26 told police Aug. 8 he had discovered his catalytic converter was stolen from his 2004 Toyota RAV-4. This is the latest in a and in the greater Philadelphia area.

Theft: A patron of in Bryn Mawr had a wallet stolen from within her purse between 1 a.m. and 2 .m. Aug. 8.

Burglary: A pool house on the 1100 block of Red Rose Lane in Villanova was burglarized between Aug. 2 and Aug. 9.

Burglary: A Rosemont home, on the 900 block of Lafayette Road, had a door forced open and jewelry and electronics taken between 11 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Aug. 9.
