Police Blotter: Multiple Thefts Reported in Gladwyne
Two homes and the Gladwyne Fire Co. were the targets of recent incidents.
The area has been experiencing a number of thefts and burglaries in recent weeks, including several concentrated in Gladwyne, police said.
Copper downspouts were stolen from a Monk Road residence while the homeowner was away between Nov. 25 and Dec. 4. The homeowner last saw the downspouts on Thanksgiving, police said. This marks the second time copper gutters have been stolen from that home.
On Dec. 4, a blue-and-white LED-lighted menorah was stolen from the Gladwyne Fire Co., 1044 Black Rock Road, police said.

There was an attempted burglary on Riverview Road reported Dec. 5. The resident had been on vacation and returned home Sunday to find a broken window on a rear door, police said. It appears the would-be burglar left unable to get in because of several locks on the door, police said.
