Police Blotter: iPhone, Laptop, Catalytic Converter, Copper Downspouts Stolen in Separate Incidents

Police reported last week's crimes Monday afternoon.

Theft: A Harcum College employee had an iPhone stolen from her desk at about
11:30 a.m. Monday, April 4.

Burglary: Fresh pry marks were found on the front door of a home on the 700
block of Mount Morrow Road in Villanova at about 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, April
5. The security alarm went off, apparently scaring off the intruder.

Public intoxication: John Bednarz, 21, of Emerson, N.J., and William Clarke, 21, of Short Hills, N.J., were arrested about 2 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, at the intersection of Lancaster Avenue and Roberts Road. Police said they were fighting, and they were charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct. Clarke’s blood-alcohol content was 0.16 and Bednarz’ was 0.18, police said.

Theft: A Bryn Mawr motorist who noticed her Toyota Sequoia producing unusual loud noises and foul smells about 10 p.m. Friday, April 8, took the
vehicle to a repair shop, where she was informed that someone had
stolen her catalytic converter, apparently while her car was parked at
the Morris Avenue train station all day.

Disorderly conduct: Timothy Joyce, 22, of Rancho Plains, Calif., was charged with disorderly conduct about 12:20 a.m. Sunday, April 10, after police
said he urinated on an outside wall of  Pizzi’s Pizza on the 1000
block of West Lancaster Avenue.

Theft: Several cars were vandalized in the parking lot at Conwyn Arms
Apartments on the 800 block of Montgomery Avenue in Bryn Mawr
overnight from Saturday, April 9, to Sunday, April 10, police said.
One Buick LeSabre lost a laptop, a GPS unit and three textbooks, but
found in the car was a cardboard box containing computer equipment
stolen from a car in Elkins Park in October, police said.

Theft: A resident of East Princeton Road in Bala Cynwyd returning home from
out of town allegedly caught Langhorne resident John Paul Sabara, 31, stealing
her copper gutters about 3 p.m. Friday, April 8, police said. Sabara
also had an active warrant for drug violations in Bucks County, police said.
Also, two 16-foot copper downspouts were reported stolen from a home
on the 1100 block of Hillcrest Road in Penn Valley about 5:20 p.m.
Friday, April 8, and copper downspouts also were reported taken from a
home on the 900 block of Stoke Road in Gladwyne sometime April 7.
It was not known whether these cases are linked to the East Princeton
Road incident.
