Police Blotter: Downspouts Vanish in Villanova, Commuter Loses Catalytic Converter

The following information has been supplied by the Lower Merion Police Department. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

Lower Merion police reported the following recent incidents to news media Monday afternoon:

Theft: Copper downspouts were stolen from three residences in the past week, police said: the 1200 block of Valley Road in Villanova on July 11 or several days before, the 1000 block of Great Springs Road in Villanova the afternoon of July 11, and the 300 block of Millbank Road in Bryn Mawr the late morning or afternoon of July 14.

Attempted Burglary: Signs of force indicated an attempted burglary the afternoon of July 11 on the 1300 block of Beaumont Road in Gladwyne, but no one was able to enter, police said.

Public Intoxication: Daniel Connelly, 52, of the unit block of East Lancaster Avenue in Ardmore was charged with public intoxication on consecutive days last week, police said. Connelly was arrested about 4:30 p.m. July 11 on the 900 block of Old Lancaster Road in Bryn Mawr, then about 8 p.m. July 12 while walking in traffic lines on the Ardmore block where he lives, police said. In both cases, he was taken to for treatment before being cited.

Burglary: Money and electronics were stolen on the 2000 block of Montgomery Avenue in Villanova sometime between June 30 and July 10, police said. There were no signs of force.

Theft: A catalytic converter was cut out from a Honda Pilot in the Rosemont train station in the morning or early afternoon of Saturday, July 16, police said.
