Police Blotter: Burglary Attempt at Bryn Mawr Church

The following information has been supplied by the Lower Merion Police Department. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

On Monday afternoon, Lower Merion police reported to news media the following incidents from the past week in Bryn Mawr and Gladwyne:

Attempted burglary: Damage to the front door of was discovered about 11:45 a.m. March 5, indicating a burglary attempt, but no entry was gained, police said.

Theft: An Apple laptop computer was stolen from a desktop at between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. March 7.

Burglary: A $180 pair of sneakers was stolen from a Kaul Hall dorm room at between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. March 10.

Public intoxication: Srinvas Manchem, 39, of the 600 block of Sanmarino Avenue in Bryn Mawr was cited after police found him sleeping in a vehicle on his block about 5 p.m. March 11.

Public intoxication, disorderly conduct: David Alliger, 22, of Ardmore, NY, and Nicholas Bailes, 21, of Middletown, PA, were arrested and charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct about 1:55 a.m. March 11 on the 1000 block of West Lancaster Avenue.
