Police Blotter: Attempted Burglary in Villanova, Public Drunkenness in Bryn Mawr

The following information has been supplied by the Lower Merion Police Department. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

On Tuesday afternoon, Lower Merion police reported to news media the following incidents from the past week in Bryn Mawr and Gladwyne:

Burglary: There was an attempted burglary on the 1600 block of Old Gulph Road in Villanova between 9 p.m. Feb. 10 and 1 a.m. Feb. 11, police said. There was force to a window, but entry was not gained, police said, adding it appears a dog scared off the burglar. 

Public drunkenness: Police said they observed a drunken man near Bryn Mawr Court Apartments about 1:15 a.m. Feb. 18. Robert Sprotte, 26, of the 100 block of Hampton Road in Garden City, NY, was arrested and charged with public drunkenness, police said.

DUI: Police said they observed a man driving erratically on Mill Creek Road about 3:57 a.m. Feb. 18. Police suspected the man of driving under the influence, but he refused blood work at Bryn Mawr Hospital. Police charged Nathan Baker, 50, of the 100 block of Pinecone Drive in Dover, DE, with DUI.

Public drunkenness: Police said they observed a woman under the influence of alcohol near the intersection of Lancaster and Warner avenues in Bryn Mawr just after 1 a.m. Feb. 19. Police charged Christine Baldwin, 18, of the 1300 block of Karen Lane in Radnor, with public drunkenness.
