Police Blotter: $5,000 Pendant, $800 Copper Gutters Stolen

The following information has been supplied by the Lower Merion Police Department. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

On Monday afternoon,  reported to news media the following incidents from the past week in Bryn Mawr and Gladwyne:

Theft from building: About $800 worth of copper gutters were stolen from a residence on the 100 block of Pennsylvania Avenue in Bryn Mawr, police said. The theft occurred between about 6:30 p.m. Aug. 5 and 7:30 p.m. Aug. 6, police said. No one was seen or heard, police said.

Theft from motor vehicle: A $5,000 pendant was stolen from a vehicle parked on the 700 block of County Line Road in Bryn Mawr between 11:20 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., police said. No one was seen or heard, police said.

DUI: Police observed a vehicle operating with a flat tire and a brake light out about 1:07 a.m. Aug. 9 at Montgomery Avenue and Wendover Road, police said. The driver had a strong odor of alcohol on her breath and failed a field sobriety test, police said. The driver, a 36-year-old King of Prussia woman, had a blood-alcohol content of .18, police said, and was charged with DUI.

Vandalism: A rock was used to smash a window on the front of the building at 880 W. Lancaster Ave., police said. No one was seen, and no value was given on the window, police said.

Public drunkenness: A 26-year-old Maple Glen resident was charged with public drunkenness after police said he was knocking on a door on the 800 block of Morton Road in Bryn Mawr.
