Police Blotter: Man with Fake ID Breaks Grog's $2,000 Card Reader

On Monday afternoon, Lower Merion police reported to news media the following incidents from the past week in Bryn Mawr and Gladwyne:

Underage drinking: Brando Brandolini, 19, of New York, NY, and John McCarthy, 18, of Trucksville, PA, were charged with underage drinking and carrying false ID about 1:50 a.m. March 27 at in Bryn Mawr.

Theft: A section of wrought iron fencing and gate, more than 100 years old, were stolen from a property on the 900 block of Old Lancaster Road in Bryn Mawr sometime between March 20 and 27, police said. 

Theft: Sometime between 2 and 6 p.m. March 29, a blue backpack containing a 13-inch Apple MacBook was stolen from the boys’ locker room at , police said.

Vandalism, underage drinking: A bouncer was checking IDs at with a card reader, when a man appearing to be about 19 put a card through and showed it was fake, police said. The man grabbed the card reader, threw it down the alley and took off running to get away, police said. When the $2,000 card reader was located, it was broken in several pieces, police said.

Public drunkenness: Joshua Prown, 23, of Red Bank, NJ, was charged with public drunkenness about 3:30 a.m. April 1 at the Rosemont Train Station.
