Police Activity: Burglaries, DUIs

Police also responded to nine animal incidents and six car crashes with property damage.

 police responded to 199 calls the week of Aug. 20 through Aug. 26 throughout Bryn Mawr and Gladwyne, up from , department records show.

During that week, police calls (which do not necessarily indicate arrests were made or charges filed) included:

  • 9 animal incidents, including three involving dogs and one each involving cats, deer and a raccoon
  • 2 burglaries: one by force at 12:31 p.m. Aug. 24 on the 600 block of Black Rock Road in Bryn Mawr, and one with no visible force at 2:35 p.m. Aug. 20 on the 700 block of Stoke Road in Villanova
  • 2 DUI arrests on Aug. 21: one at 3:42 a.m. at County Line Road and South Warner Avenue in Bryn Mawr, and one at 10:47 p.m. on the 1000 block of Stony Lane in Gladwyne
  • 1 fire, at 12:44 p.m. Aug. 22 on the 1600 block of Waverly Road in Gladwyne
  • 1 fraud case on the 900 block of West Lancaster Avenue in Bryn Mawr at 12:02 p.m. Aug. 20
  • 6 car accidents with property damage
  • 5 citations for public drunkenness
  • 1 theft, reported at 8:21 a.m. Aug. 26 on the 700 block of Eagle Farm Road in Villanova
