DUI, False ID in Police Blotter

Read about two recent police reports.

The following information was provided by the Lower Merion Township Police Department.

Liquor law violation

A 19-year-old York, PA woman was cited for liquor law violation after she stopped her car in the middle of the road near the Rosemont McDonalds, police said. On April 10 at 12:48 a.m., police on patrol pulled up behind a stopped vehicle to talk to the driver and asked for identification. The 19-year-old passed by a New York drivers license while looking for her ID, and tried to conceal it when police asked about it, according to the report. Eventually, she produced the license, and was cited for possession of false identification and a parking violation, police said.

A 54-year-old Haverford man was cited for driving under the influence after police saw him driving without headlights at 10:57 p.m. on April 12 at W Lancaster Avenue and Central Avenue in Bryn Mawr, according to the report. When pulled over, the man smelled of alcohol and seemed distracted, as police needed to remind him several times to present his license, according to the report. The man failed field sobriety tests and was arrested and brought back to police headquarters, where he registered .195 percent on a blood alcohol content test, police said.
