Crime Stats: Post-Sandy Run on Police Services
Calls increased significantly after the storm.
Lower Merion police responded to 385 calls the week ending Nov. 4 throughout Bryn Mawr and Gladwyne, up from 249 calls the previous week, department records show.

- 71 alarm activations
- 9 animal incidents
- 1 DUI, Nov. 1 on the 800 block of West Lancaster Avenue in Bryn Mawr
- 100 electrical/gas/water complaints
- 5 fires, including two heater/chimney/flue fires Oct. 30 and Nov. 1 in Villanova
- 3 car crashes with injuries
- 7 car crashes with property damage
- 1 citation for public drunkenness
- 5 thefts
