Crime Stats: Burglaries, DUI, Thefts

Incidents increased significantly week to week.

Lower Merion police responded to 249 calls the week ending Oct. 28 throughout Bryn Mawr and Gladwyne, up from 188 calls the previous week, department records show.

Last week, police calls (which do not necessarily indicate arrests were made or charges filed) included:

  • 13 animal incidents
  • 2 burglaries: Oct. 22 on the 400 block of Great Springs Road in Bryn Mawr and Oct. 23 on the 600 block of New Gulph Road in Bryn Mawr
  • 1 DUI, Oct. 23 on the first block of South Merion Avenue in Bryn Mawr
  • 1 fire, Oct. 26 at Prospect Avenue and Old Lancaster Road in Bryn Mawr
  • 1 car accident with injuries
  • 9 car accidents with property damage
  • 5 citations for public intoxication
  • 1 simple assault, Oct. 26 at Morris Avenue and Yarrow Street in Bryn Mawr
  • 2 thefts
