Crime Stats: Knife Assault, Appliance Fire, Animals in the Road

A round-up of police calls the week of Sept. 24-30 in the Bryn Mawr-Gladwyne Patch area.

Lower Merion police responded to 180 calls the week of Sept. 24-30 throughout Bryn Mawr and Gladwyne, down from 228 calls the previous week, department records show.

Last week, police calls (which do not necessarily indicate arrests were made or charges filed) included:

  • 9 animal incidents, including 6 with dogs and 1 each involving cats, deer and a fox
  • 2 assaults on Friday, Sept. 28: one with a knife about 12:55 a.m. on the 1200 block of West Lancaster Avenue in Rosemont, and one about 2:40 a.m. on the 700 block of West Montgomery Avenue in Bryn Mawr
  • 1 appliance fire, about 12:05 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, on the 400 block of Clairemont Road in Villanova
  • 4 car crashes with injuries
  • 10 car crashes with property damage
  • 1 simple assault, on the 600 block of North Ithan Avenue in Rosemont
  • 1 theft, about 11 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, on the 700 block of West Montgomery Avenue in Bryn Mawr
