Bryn Mawr House Fire Confined To Attic

A number of Lower Merion units responded to a fire on Wendover Road in Bryn Mawr.

Crews were called to a fire on Wendover Road in Bryn Mawr early Tuesday evening.

Upon arrival, crews found smoke coming from the roof of the home.

Two firefighters were sent into the attic to extinguish the fire, which was placed under control within five minutes of crews arriving at the home, according to Lower Merion Fire Deputy Chief Joe Spych.

Two people were home when the fire was spotted, one of whom is wheel chair-bound. Spych said neither were injured.

Bryn Mawr, Gladwyne, Penn Wynne and Ardmore units along with Narberth ambulance responded to the fire.

Crews don’t yet know the extent of the damage. There is fire damage to the attic and possible water damage to first and second floors, according to Spych.
