Couple Home for Hours Before Noticing Burglary

A couple returns to its Bryn Mawr home only to notice jewelry was stolen four hours later.

A husband and wife returned home only to discover four hours later that their house in the 100 block of Gatemore Road had been burglarized, police said.

According to police, the couple left their home at 3 p.m. on Nov. 29, and they returned home at 5:35 p.m. on Nov. 30.

After returning home, the couple spent the next few hours in the downstairs portion of their home until they went upstairs at around 9:25 p.m. on Nov. 30.

It was then that they realized that their house had been burglarized due to a large amount of ransacking in the master bedroom, police said.

Police arrived on the scene and determined that entry to the home had been gained through a small first floor window.

Police said that a large amount of jewelry had been stolen, but that only the master bedroom had been ransacked.
