Bryn Mawr Wine & Spirits Shop Robbed

The robbery occurred Dec. 19.

The Bryn Mawr Shop was robbed by two men Dec. 19, Lower Merion police said Monday.

As an employee was leaving the store at 1:07 p.m. Dec. 19 with a bag full of bank deposits, a black man approached from behind and grabbed the bag, according to Lower Merion Police Supt. Michael McGrath. No weapon was seen or implied in the robbery, and the employee was not injured.

The man was about 30 years old, 6-foot-5, with short hair and a light goatee, McGrath added. The man immediately fled the area in the passenger side of a blue sedan driven by a white man, he said.

More than $8,500—three days' worth of receipts—was stolen, said Thomas Todd, the general manager of Bryn Mawr Wine & Spirits.

Todd said further precautions are now being taken, such as making sure there is someone with the employee making the deposit.
