Belmont Hills Pool Burglarized, Again

The thief made away with six cents.

Belmont Hills Pool was burglarized for the third time in six days on July 15, according to Lower Merion Police, though this time it seems the thief in question didn't get away with quite the haul they hoped for.

According to police, last Monday they were called to the pool at 11:31 a.m. by the manager of the Sun Valley Pizza snack shop that operates at the facility.

The manager told police that someone entered the shop sometime between the previous night and that morning through a pair of sliding windows, and took six cents from the cash register. Police said the windows can't be secured, a fact which is common knowledge to pool members and staff.

According to officer Anthony Morello, the manager was aware of the two previous burglaries—the first of which was discovered on July 10, the second two days later—and left the change in the register to see if it would be stolen.

In this case, crime really didn't pay. Not well, anyway.
