Bryn Mawr Hospital sponsors third annual Bryn Mawr Day
On September 7, Bryn Mawr Hospital was a sponsor of the third annual Bryn Mawr Day 2013, which recognizes institutions, schools, churches and businesses that have been in continuous operation for a century or more. Bryn Mawr Hospital and Nemours Pediatrics provided entertainment by Radio Disney, featuring a toy clinic with “Doc McStuffins,” a girl who plays vet to her stuffed animals, as well as a scavenger hunt to the Nemours Kids Transport Ambulance. Bryn Mawr Hospital also had a health information table, and Community Services gave attendees a chance to spin the Wellness Wheel.
A highlight of the day was the hospital’s Orthopedic Reunion Walk. Approximately 70 people participated in the one-mile walk, including patients and their families, orthopedic program staff, administration and surgeons.
“We wanted to have a reunion that would celebrate our patient's success by highlighting their improved mobility through a celebratory walk,” said Sharon Register, Joint Replacement program manager, Bryn Mawr Hospital. “Participants were able to enjoy the beautiful day with a walk, which some chose to do a few times, as well as attend Bryn Mawr Day.
