STOP THE FRACK ATTACK!
Washington DC ~ Saturday 7.28.12
Clearly, this thing’s gonna be The Thing. In fact, STOP THE FRACK ATTACK promises to be the biggest anti-fracking rally in the United States. Ever. Fractivists around the country, and around the world, are psyched. A new rallying cry from Josh Fox and Mark Ruffalo doesn’t hurt, either.
Citizens of every stripe will converge on Washington DC, calling on President Obama and the US Congress to “change the way the oil and gas industry operates in this country.”
Is it any coincidence that, lately, publicity for the anti-fracking movement has been outstanding? Yoko Ono and Sean Lennon appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon singing Don’t Frack My Mother, and it’s exploding on YouTube. Real Time’s Bill Maher had both Mark Ruffalo and Rachel Maddow on the same show, the season finale no less. And no one can stop smiling after David Letterman wailed, “We’re screwed!” in a recent anti-fracking rant.
The Delaware Riverkeeper Invites You To Stop The Frack Attack!
Why care about the adverse environmental impacts of hydraulic fracturing? Because, according to Maya van Rossum, The Delaware Riverkeeper, "the out-of-control practice of gas extraction" has "gutted the land, ruined the water and forced people out of their homes." van Rossum invites you to join The Riverkeepers, and thousands of others in protest on Saturday, July 28th with this intelligent Call-To-Action.
Stop The Frack Attack! is organized by "a coalition of concerned citizens and groups seeking to protect their health and their families from an industry that is exempt from basic environmental protections, coddled by regulators, and supported by generous tax incentives to drill next to our schools and homes while polluting our air and water."
The Goal: To unite and take a stand for a truly clean energy future.
