Riverbend and the Science Festival Get Down and Dirty for Explorer Sunday

On Sunday, April 27th Riverbend Environmental Education Center will be partnering with the Philadelphia Science Festival for Ecosystem Exploration; part of the festival’s Explorer Sunday Series. From 1:00pm-4:00pm families are invited to come to Riverbend anytime and enjoy some of the best of what Riverbend has to offer.

For three hours families are invited to explore the stream for salamanders and crayfish or the ponds for frogs and tadpoles. Travel up Riverbend’s Valley View Trail to the meadow and use nets to catch grasshoppers or get up close and personal to worms and millipedes in the decomposer area. Visitors can also stop at the iconic Snider Red Barn for a live animals show featuring some of Riverbend’s beloved creatures. This event is free and open to everyone to come and enjoy. No registration is necessary.

For more information about the event, contact Riverbend’s Director of Education Stacy Carr-Poole at scar@riverbendeec.org or 610-527-5234.
