Mark Your Calendars for Local Halloween Events

Frightful happenings abound in the area.

There are multiple opportunities for spooky and not-so-spooky fun in the area over the next week.

  • New Horizon Senior Center will hold a Halloween Party at 11:15 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25. For members and guests ages 55 and up. 100 Conway Ave., 2nd floor, in Narberth. Call 610-664-2366.
  • A SPARKY Halloween Party at SparkPark, with science experiments and crafts for goblins ages 6 to 10, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25. 950 Montgomery Ave. in Narberth. E-mail admin@thesparkpark.com
  • Halloween Party for Kids, held by Lower Merion High School and buildOn, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25. $10 per child; parents are free. 315 Montgomery Ave. in Bryn Mawr. E-mail reedt@lmsd.org
  • Our Mother of Good Counsel will hold its annual Fall Festival and Haunted Maze. The festival will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26; and noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27. The maze will be from 6 to 9 p.m. both Friday and Saturday. 31 Pennswood Road, Bryn Mawr. Call 610-525-0147.
  • “The Weird Sisters,” a kid-friendly version of “MacBeth,” will be staged at 8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, and Saturday, Oct. 26., on the Narberth Library steps. Recommended for ages 8 and up. Tickets are $5. Visit www.narberthhalloweentheater.blogspot.com.
  • Ardmore Halloween Spooktacular starts at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at The Mud Room, 11 Station Road in Ardmore. For children of all ages.
  • Witches of Narberth scavenger hunt from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, or until all prizes are gone. Free and open to all ages. Starts at the corner of Forrest and Haverford avenues.
  • The Hamels Foundation will be holding a Halloween Bash for all ages from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at 880 W. Lancaster Ave. in Bryn Mawr. Call 484-383-4710.
  • Narberth’s Halloween Parade, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30. Wear your costume and meet in the parking lot at 227 N. Narberth Ave. in Narberth.
  • Haunted Firehouse at Gladwyne Firehouse, which transforms the community room into a spooky attraction, at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31. Recommended for ages 5 and up, but all trick-or-treaters may stop by for a treat. 1044 Black Rock Road in Gladwyne. Call 610-405-7089.
