Everything You Know About Compost is Wrong! With Mike McGrath

Many people get into composting because they want to recycle their
kitchen scraps. But a compost bin filled with kitchen scraps will still
just be a compost bin filled with kitchen scraps a year later (and those
scraps will not have improved in appearance one bit
during that time). Mike McGrath, host of Public Radio’s “You Bet Your
Garden” and author of the best-selling “Mike McGrath’s Book of Compost,”
will reveal: which ingredients actually BECOME the finished compost; which ingredients are the best fuel for the fire; three common compost additions that actually work AGAINST
you; why layering your pile is the worst thing you can do; why compost
should almost never be tilled into the soil; and why only chumps turn their compost pile. It’s the express lane to no-work, high-quality, black gold!

Parking will be in the available in the “Quinn Hall Parking Lot” located off of N. Latch’s Lane.
