Has Technology Made God & Spirituality Obsolete?

People everywhere wonder about the relevance of God and what their identity and purpose are. National speaker, Mary Alice Rose, says, “Prayer and my relationship with God play such an important role in my happiness and well-being that I couldn’t imagine a scenario in which I would find no need for them.”
Rose will present a talk titled, “Has technology made God and spirituality obsolete?” on Saturday, November 17th, 2pm at the Radnor Memorial Library114 W. Wayne Avenue,Wayne, PA 19087.
“In this lecture I explore how my own relationship with God has served as a foundation for addressing this question from a number of angles,” says Rose. “I will share several examples illustrating the relevance of God and spirituality in a technological society, including examples from my experience working on the Hubble Space Telescope project.”
Rose’s ideas are based on the teachings of Jesus as recorded in the Bible, and as discussed in the book,Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy.
Rose’s interest in science and technology led to a 20-year career in different areas of applied physical science. Her work ranged from a meteorologist for the National Severe Storms Laboratory to a manager developing the ground system for the Hubble SpaceTelescope. As interesting as her career was, Rose found that she wanted more time to focus on her most rewarding scientific endeavor: exploring her relationship with God.    So, in 2002, she made the transition from manager, engineer, and earth scientist to the full-time ministry as a Christian Science practitioner.
